GRANDPARENT’S MASS
As part of the celebration of being a Catholic school we invited grandparents and all family members to join us in Mountrath Church for Mass on Friday 14th February. We prayed especially for our grandparents and family members who are in Heaven. We went to St. Fintan’s Hall afterwards for tea, treats and a chat.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
Last week we celebrated Catholic Schools Week. The theme this year was “Living in Harmony with God’s Creation”. Our school has successfully completed the Green School’s Programme and so as a Catholic school we are called to be stewards of the environment and we have a collective responsibility to protect it for future generations.
We went to Mass last Thursday in honour of St. Brigid and we were delighted to be asked to make St. Brigid’s Crosses for our Parish, thanks to 5th and 6th class girls for making them. On Friday all classes came together in the hall to make St. Brigid’s Crosses.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
Last week was Catholic schools week. The theme this year was “Catholic Schools: Celebrating the Work of Our Local Catholic Schools”. We had a lovely prayer service at Assembly. As part of Catholic Schools Week we went to Mass on Friday 1st, February, St. Brigid’s Day. We also celebrated Grandparents Day at this Mass, remembering also our Grandparents in heaven. After Mass we invited Grandparents and the children to St Fintan’s Hall for tea, treats and a chat. It was a lovely morning. Later in the hall classes came together to make St. Brigid’s crosses from the blessed rushes.
