Scoil Bhríde, Mountrath
Vision Statement
We in Scoil Bhríde, seek to develop a friendly, co-operative climate in which all members of the school community are encouraged to be respectful, responsible, self-disciplined and self-reliant. We acknowledge that the ultimate aspiration of the school is to prepare our pupils to live content and happy lives.
We are committed to excellence in educational provision, and aim to develop the full potential of every student, in the context of the unique abilities and aptitudes of each child. We acknowledge the differing educational needs of our pupils, and are determined to cater for all needs to the best of our ability.
Emotional and personal development are central to the work of the school. We endeavour to enhance the self-esteem of everyone in the school community. Pupils are encouraged, affirmed, given responsibility and provided with opportunities to experience success.
Pupils in Scoil Bhríde are taught to be inclusive and respectful of all cultures, while taking pride in Irish customs and traditions. We are committed to the promotion of consideration and care for natural and human environments.
All students are encouraged to value their physical and mental health, and we hope to develop positive attitudes towards physical activity, nutrition and wellbeing. The development of the senses to appreciate the beauty inherent in art, music and the natural world is recognised as fundamental to our vision.
Scoil Bhríde is an all girls’ primary school, which was founded by the Brigidine Order in 1809, and is under the trusteeship of the Catholic bishop of Kildare and Leighlin. In accordance with this Christian perspective, we welcome pupils of all religions or none, and are committed to the spiritual development of each pupil, regardless of their religious beliefs. The values of the Gospel, such as love, justice, forgiveness, compassion, truth and tolerance are the hallmark of this school.
