The Parents' Association promotes the interests of the school in co-operation with the Board of Management, principal, staff and pupils in the school. Membership of the Parents' Association is open to all parents of pupils in the school. The school community has benefitted enormously in recent years from the contribution of our small, but enthusiastic, Parents' Association.
In conjunction with 5th/6th class the Parents' Association organise our Christmas Jumble sale and raffle each year. As well as being an important fundraiser, this is a very enjoyable event for the whole school, and offers the senior girls a practical way to learn about money, marketing, communication skills etc. In recent years the Parents' Association have organised a Christmas Musical event in St Fintan's Church, which has served to bring the whole community together and provided an opportunity for local talent to be displayed in a very pleasant atmosphere.
The money raised by the various Parents' Association fundraisers has greatly subsidised the cost of school tours and trips and has allowed a variety of activities to be provided for the children at low cost. The Parents' Association have also added greatly to the welcome provided in the school during important events such as 6th class graduation, the Green Flag raising and Grandparents' Day by providing tea/coffee and home baking to visitors.
The Parents' Association always welcome new committee members. If you are interested in getting involved, even just for one event, please don't hesitate to contact the school and your contact details will be passed on to the committee.
