The National Reptile Zoo
The National Reptile Zoo visited our school on Friday 23rd June. The girls and boys really enjoyed the day as they got up close and personal with some scaly creatures. The girls and boys got the opportunity to touch reptiles such as snake, turtle and lizard.

Electricity Workshop
On the 12th of May, Christine Campbell from ‘Anyone 4 Science’ visited Scoil Bhríde to carry out a workshop 'Bright Sparks- the hair raising story of Electricity’ with students from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Students from Junior Infants to Second class investigated static electricity using a variety of materials such as straws, pencils and paper plates. Students from 3rd – 6th classes investigated what frogs and cola drinks have in common as they make their own batteries. They also learned about how electricity has changed over time.

Energy Workshop
On the 17th of February ‘The Rediscovery Centre’ visited to carry out Energy Workshops with students from Third to Sixth Class. The Rediscovery Centre brings together the skills and expertise of scientists, designers, business managers and craftsmen united in a common purpose of sustainability through resource efficiency and life cycle design. The Rediscovery Centres current projects include
The girls learned about Non Renewable Energy sources as well as Renewable Energy and the environmental impacts of each energy source. The girls learned about climate change due to energy usage and the importance of saving energy. The girls then made a solar oven to show that solar energy can be used directly to cook.

Junior Einsteins 7 October 2016
Junior Einsteins came to Scoil Bhríde. The children had lots of fun making slime crystals, elephant toothpaste, lightning etc. it was very educational and enjoyable.
